Pacific Rim has been scheduled for a July 2013 release date so two years everyone, can you wait that long?

The actor Idris Elba’s getting mad attention lately, from running neck-and-neck with Will Smith as the lead in Quentin Tarantino’s next pic, Django Unchained to talking with Guillermo del Toro about starring in his next film, Pacific Rim. This movie is the reason why Thor and 28 Weeks Later director del Toro had to drop out of The Hobbit, replaced by seasoned Tolkien director Peter Jackson.

Pacific Rim stars Charlie Hunnam in a futuristic world being attacked by aliens. Idris is apparently being courted by Legendary Pictures and del Toro for a supporting role in the film. He is currently filming Prometheus with Michael Fassbender and Charlize Theron. Elba also supported in the ludicrous-looking Ghost Rider: Spirit Of Vengeance, co-starring with Nicolas Cage, currently in post at Columbia.

Stars of FX motorcycle-gang drama “Sons Of Anarchy,” the on-the-rise Charlie Hunnam and the revitalized Ron Perlman are set to unite on the silver screen alongside comedy thespians Lizzy Caplan and Chris O’Dowd for “Frankie Goes Boom,” a project written and to be directed by Jordan Roberts.

Little is currently known about the project other than the fact it’s a comedy from the mind of Roberts—though which of the many Jordan Roberts this is remains to be seen; we presume it’s the writer-director of 2004’s “Around The Bend,” based purely on his ability to attract big name actors like Michael Caine, Christopher Walken and Josh Lucas on that occasion.

I’m taking a short break from the fansite world, but I had to come and blog about this. Charlie wrote a script for Vlad which is being picked up by Summit and Brad Pitt’s production company! The best part is? No vamps. They aren’t going down that road.

In a interview recently, it’s also confirmed that Sons of Anarchy will be returning for a third season. I squealed. Want to read a interview with Charlie where he talks history (he knows what he’s talking about, which wins him many more hot points) and who he’s like to see as Vlad.

Both are set to be released in 2009.
