blockquote>Mo Ryan: Where does Jax stand at the beginning of the season?
Charlie Hunnam: I think my initial way of handling it is to get very drunk and try to suppress a little bit of the pain. And the boys quickly remind me, that’s not how we do it and we start to get a little more proactive.
MR: Do you think he puts being a father ahead of being part of the club?
CH: Yeah, I do. One of the things that [the Abel kidnapping] pulls into focus for me is that I think in my heart, Abel was always put first, but in practice, I think I was really neglecting him [in favor of] my responsibilities to the club. If Jax was asked where his primary responsibility is, he’d say Abel, but I don’t think that was ever really in practice, and I think this is going to motivate him to make a big change.
MR: How much of Jax’s path is influenced by reading John Teller’s manuscript? And how much is just him being a restless soul?
CH: I think it informed the path that I’m trying to take. I think that was really always there, though, and it was reassuring me that I wasn’t crazy for desiring these things. It pulled into focus exactly what I was [thinking about]. But I also think about the fact that, these were his wishes — they were unrealized. Jax realizes how idealistic that was. I think I’m trying to figure out what I can actually change and be realistic and be happy with that. Obviously there are giant problems between Jax and Clay but I think all of that stuff, though it rears its head here and there, needs to be put on the back burner until we get Abel back and figure out what we’re doing. There’s also this big thing hanging over us [the gun charges the Sons face].

Clearly, SOA gets shunned every year from the Emmy’s, which in itself is sad but Charlie had something to say in a recent sit down with Seattle PI
“I personally was really happy. I don’t subscribe to Emmys or awards or any of that s—,” star Charlie Hunnam said at the show’s Television Critics Association panel for the FX drama on Tuesday. “I think it’s all a crock of s—.”
Hunnam tried to explain that he wasn’t suffering a case of sour grapes. “I was happy that … we weren’t on the receiving end of a force that could change the dynamic that we have,” he said. “All of that crap, I think, is secondary and … has the potential to ruin a good thing.”
Well, he may definitely have a good point.
Snippet from a article that Clutch and Chrome posted where Charlie gives a little blip about what’s to come in season 3. Placed under a cut so no one has to be spoiled unless they want to be.

SCREEN star Charlie Hunnam is going back to his roots . . . to make a movie about his dad.
The Newcastle-born actor, who rose to fame after starring in the controversial TV series Queer As Folk, now lives in Hollywood where he has a regular appearance in the hard-hitting series Sons of Anarchy, which centres around motorbike gangs.
But he’ll be swapping bikers for Byker, Newcastle, very soon, after revealing how he’s heading home to make a film based on his dad Billy’s life growing up on Tyneside.
Charlie, 30, will write the script for the low-budget project – the second script he has penned recently.
Later this year he’ll see the script he titled “Vlad” – the true story of the historical leader Vlad the Impaler, the real-life inspiration for Dracula – turned into an £85m movie called Blood by Brad Pitt’s Plan B production company.
The former Heaton Manor School pupil said: “I am going to sit down and write something, a very, very small story.
“The budget for Vlad is about £85m. I am going to write a very small and easily financeable story about my dad, actually, growing up in Newcastle. So I’m going to go and spend some time with my dad and write that story.
